Camping at Broadwater
Fun at Broadwater a family tradition for us!
Broadwater is a National Park 2 hours’ drive north of Townsville. The turn off is north of Ingham on highway one and is well signed. It has a lovely shady campground for families to enjoy. There is space for a game of cricket or a shady tree for reading a book. The creek is cool, clean and always flowing. A great idea is to take blow up boats, boogie boards or something you can use the float down the rapids. Just like all national Parks, it is essential to book online before you go.
- Clean campground
- Clean toilets
- Cold shower
- 2 BBQ’s in the day use area
- Camp fires allowed
Caution: Bullrouts can be found in the creek. These are a freshwater stonefish. I have been visiting the campground for 10 years and am yet to see one. However it is best to wear shoes in the water.
