The Townsville Kids goal is to connect parents and carers with child friendly businesses/services or products and provide them with the information they need to make the right choices for their families by using a multi-platform approach.

Townsville is a wonderful city with so much to offer and Townsville Kids wants to promote this to local and visiting families. Townsville Kids is also an opportunity for our many Defence and Mining families to research information prior to their arrival in Townsville and help them prepare for their transition to life in our great city.

Who is it for?

The Townsville Kids story

Townsville Kids was started by two Townsville Mums (Sally and Renee) in 2011.  They shared a dream to help parents and caregivers find local kids information with ease and to help get all Townsville Kids out and about.

This vision is shared by the current owner, Angela Anderson who took over ownership in December 2013.

In 21017 the website was renovated and Mandy Geissmann joined the team which meant significant growth prospects for this small team.

In 2018 Townsville Kids launched their First Edition Digital Handbook a product designed to help Families and Businesses within the Community to flourish and save time!

About the Owner & Chief Fun Finder, Angela Anderson

I am a local Mum loving life in Townsville!

Many times I self-doubted my parenting techniques, at times I have been desperate for active things to do with my child to ensure he had his afternoon nap (and I could get stuff done!).  I have looked for different activities to find the right one for my son as he was (is) very active and loud and needed an outlet. I have wanted to find information that could help me.

All of the above is why I was so excited to become the Chief Fun Finder at Townsville Kids in 2013. When I did I set myself a challenge; to master where, who and how to find the best information and refine how to bring it easily to the Townsville Community, via this website, mailing list and social media platforms, to help families every day.

In a past life I have enjoyed a diverse career, working in the Australian Defence Force, Recruitment Industry, Retail Sector, Real Estate and the Australian Public Service. A career of  weighing fruit and vegetables, processing payroll, opening houses on the smallest, cockroach infested shoe boxes in Sydney, interviewing whole manufacturing workforce’s looking for work after a company closure and successfully coordinating the movement of hundreds of French troops on and off a Navy ship during a 3 day exercise, without speaking the language, all set me up for the hardest and most rewarding job of all – Mum!

Townsville Kids has helped me grow as a business owner and as a Mum in the Townsville Community, I have honed my skills and met many local business owners in Townsville.  I am thoroughly enjoying this journey and look forward to all that is still to come.
